Thermoplastic Polyolefins


Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) is a single-ply roofing membrane made up of a single layer of synthetics and reinforcing scrim. It is manufactured by the chemical combination of propylene, ethylene, rubber, and other filler materials

Advantages

1.    Better impact resistance than standard Polypropylene (PP) grades, especially at low temperatures
2.    Lightweight
3.    Chemical resistance

Limitations

1.    Lower stiffness than standard PP grades
2.    Painting requires pre-treatments
3.    Decreased performance at elevated temperatures
