Thermoplastic Polyolefins
Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) is a single-ply roofing membrane made up of
a single layer of synthetics and reinforcing scrim. It is manufactured by the
chemical combination of propylene, ethylene, rubber, and other filler materials
Advantages
1.
Better impact
resistance than standard Polypropylene (PP) grades, especially at low
temperatures
2.
Lightweight
3.
Chemical resistance
Limitations
1.
Lower stiffness than
standard PP grades
2.
Painting requires
pre-treatments
3.
Decreased performance
at elevated temperatures
